Long-Term Commitment. Community Partnership
At Enashipai, our impact strategy is an extension of our hospitality philosophy. We recognise that sustainable success requires investment in the communities and ecosystems that sustain us.
Since inception, Enashipai has supported a range of community and environmental initiatives through direct engagement and partnership. In 2018, we formalised these efforts into three core pillars creating a structured impact framework designed to strengthen focus, accountability, and long-term sustainability.
Quality Education
The Enashipai Scholarship Programme
In 2019, Enashipai entered into a structured partnership with Moja Tu to support students from Mirera Primary School in accessing secondary education. Since the programme began:
- Eight students have been sponsored through high school.
- Students receive tuition support, school supplies, mentorship, and structured follow-up.
- Graduates have progressed to university studies in fields including Accounting, Analytical Chemistry, Biotechnology, and Commerce.
The scholarship programme is designed not as a one-time sponsorship, but as sustained academic support from admission through completion.
Digital Learning & Computer Laboratories
Recognising the importance of digital literacy, Enashipai partnered with Moja Tu to establish Mirera Primary School’s first computer laboratory in 2023. In 2024, a second computer lab was installed. Together, these labs:
- Provide weekly digital access to nearly 1,000 students.
- Introduce learners to desktop basics and foundational IT skills.
- Create exposure to modern tools previously unavailable within the school environment.
- Offer structured touch-typing programmes.
The labs represent more than infrastructure they represent expanded opportunity.
The J.K. Mwangi Library
In 2019, Enashipai handed over a fully equipped school library at Mirera Primary School in honour of our late Chairman, J.K. Mwangi. Delivered in partnership with Story Moja, The Nobelity Project, and Shah Timber, the library includes:
- Over 1,000 curated books
- Custom shelving and furniture
- Structured literacy support
The library continues to serve as a structured learning space that encourages reading culture and independent study.
Environmental Responsibility
Situated within the Great Rift Valley ecosystem, Enashipai recognises its responsibility to operate with environmental awareness.
Our initiatives have included:
- Participation in conservation-linked events
- Partnerships with Kenya Wildlife Service and KenGen
- Waste reduction initiatives
- Sustainable sourcing practices
- Community environmental engagement
These efforts continue to evolve as part of our broader sustainability strategy.
Water & Sanitation
Access to safe water and proper sanitation remains foundational to community well-being.
Through partnerships and infrastructure support, Enashipai contributes to initiatives that:
- Improve sanitation access
- Support hygiene awareness
- Strengthen community resilience
Water stewardship also informs our operational practices within the resort environment.
Community Partnerships
Beyond education, Enashipai has supported:
- Ubuntu Life Foundation (special needs therapy and vocational training)s
- Local shelters and children’s homes
- Community fundraising events
- Charity golf tournaments
- Local social impact initiatives
These partnerships are guided by continuity and relationship not episodic engagement.
