Broad function:

The Sales Account Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with corporate clients, event planners, and other stakeholders to drive revenue growth and maximize sales opportunities. The ideal candidate should possess strong sales acumen, excellent communication skills, and a passion for hospitality.

Primary duties and responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets and business objectives.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with corporate clients, travel agencies, event planners, and other potential business partners to generate leads and secure new accounts
  • Actively prospect for new business opportunities through cold calling, networking events, and industry conferences.
  • Conduct site inspections, client meetings, and presentations to showcase the hotel’s facilities, services, and amenities
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and terms of sale in collaboration with the Head of Sales and Marketing.
  • Collaborate with internal departments such as reservations, front office, food and beverage, management etc to ensure successful execution of client events and group bookings.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and pipeline management in Navari.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and guest feedback to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Provide regular sales forecasts, performance reports, and insights weekly and monthly.
  • Represent the hotel at trade shows, industry events, and sales blitzes to promote brand awareness and generate leads.
  • Create and maintain a corporate database usable for making management decisions.
  • To develop and implement special events packages e.g weddings, anniversary, honeymoon and birthday among others. To manage wedding and special events accounts.
  • Handles guest related queries and enquiries.
  • Develop sales strategies & vigorously market the leisure section to realize optimum profits
  • Recommend pricing policies for services rendered in accordance with minimum profit levels as set by the Head of Sales and Marketing.
  • Gaining a clear understanding of customers’ businesses and requirements.
  • Bring to the attention of the General Manager, services and facilities that do not meet with the expectations of the customers.
  • Conduct exit interviews with relevant corporate contact persons after events such as weddings, conferences, team building etc so as to get their views and feedback.
  • Demonstrate an understanding and an awareness of all policies and procedures relating to Health, Hygiene and Fire Life Safety at the hotel.
  • Familiarize yourself with emergency and evacuation procedures at the hotel.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
  2. Minimum of 3-5 years of sales experience in the hospitality industry, preferably in a hotel setting.
  3. Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and quotas.
  4. Strong negotiation, persuasion, and closing skills with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
  5. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate value propositions effectively.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with CRM software.
  7. Self-motivated and results-oriented with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  8. Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational and time management skills
  9. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required to accommodate client needs and business demands
  10. Knowledge of hotel operations, industry trends, and market dynamics is preferred.
