SUSTAINABLE TOURISM
At Enashipai, sustainable tourism isn’t just a concept, it’s a way of life ingrained in every aspect of our operations. We believe in responsible travel that harmonizes with our environment, enriches local culture, and supports community well-being. Through innovative practices and dedicated initiatives, we strive to minimize our ecological footprint while offering guests meaningful experiences that leave a positive impact on both nature and society
Here is a brief detail on how it’s going so far:
GARBAGE SEPARATION AND RECYCLING
Everyday, waste management takes centre stage as our back of house teams separate, sort and prepare waste gathered throughout the resort for pickup by a licensed waste transporter for onward recycling and composting.
CHERISHING EVERY DROP
Water is life, and we treat it with the reverence it deserves. From an elaborate rainwater harvesting system to a well-engineered wastewater recycling plant, we are committed to ensuring that the lush green landscaped gardens you love at Enashipai are maintained is a safe and sustainable manner.
CULTIVATING NATURE’S BOUNTY:
In our endeavor to provide guests with a farm-to-table experience, we’ve embraced organic farming practices, cultivating vegetables and herbs without the use of harmful chemicals. Waste from this process finds new life as compost, enriching the soil and completing the circle of sustainability.
COLLABORATION AND COMMUNITY INVOLVMENT:
Our commitment towards sustainability extends beyond our boundaries. Since inception, we have joined hands with the local community in environmental conservation initiatives and have partnered with LNRA (Lake Naivasha Riparian Association) the Ministry of Environment in Nakuru County among others to preserve the pristine beauty of Lake Naivasha.
EMPOWERING GUESTS TOWARDS SUSTAINABLE CHOICES
Our commitment to sustainability extends beyond the resort’s boundaries and into the hearts of our guests. With dual-flush toilets and a mindful approach to water usage, we empower guests to join our conservation efforts, one flush at a time. Similarly, we encourage our guests to re-use linen to help us reduce the amount of water and energy we consume daily.
A PLEDGE AGAINST PLASTIC
Every year, we are looking for new ways to reduce our reliance on plastic. In 2022, we made a 100% transition from plastic to re-useable glass bottles in our guest rooms offering our guests a refreshing sip of sustainability with every sip of water. In 2023, we made another 100% transition from single use shower gel, shampoo and conditioner plastic to wall mounted refillable dispensers. Step by step we are making strides to reduce, re-use and re-cycle more – our environment will thank us.
CHAMPIONS OF CHANGE
Here at Enashipai, sustainability isn’t just a buzzword; it’s a way of life championed by individuals dedicated to driving change. Our sustainability champions ensure that every department upholds our commitment to minimizing waste and maximizing impact, fostering a culture of environmental stewardship.
HARNESSING THE POWER OF THE SUN
While at Enashipai, you cannot help but notice the beautiful yellow barked Acacia trees – we believe that’s God’s way of reminding us that the sun shines extra bright in Naivasha, and we use that to our advantage. From solar powered street lights to solar powered water heating – we are continuously looking for creative ways to reduce our carbon footprint one ray of sunlight at time.
” This is our promise to future generations. By embracing eco-friendly practices, supporting local communities, and preserving our natural heritage, we are creating a world where every journey enriches, respects, and sustains. “
