Home Cooking Recipe – Mongolian Beef

Mongolian beef – originally a Taiwanese recipe – is the easiest way to have a flavourful and delicious restaurant-style dinner at home and take about 30 minutes to make.


  • Soy sauce
  • Dark brown sugar
  • Garlic
  • Ginger
  • Vegetable or sesame oil
  • Onions
  • Chilli flakes (if you would like to make it spicy)


  • Slice the flank steak across the grain then mix with cornstarch and set aside
  • In a large pan, fry the beef in hot oil until crispy
  • In a wok, mix all the ingredients for the sauce and cook until thickened
  • Add the beef to the sauce mixture, stir to combine and add the onions
  • Serve with white or brown rice
